Mobile Device Policy
Purpose
The intent of this Policy is to ensure that usage of mobile devices is outlined for use within our organization.
Scope
This policy applies to all Uncanny Software engineering, customer success and product team members. The primary functional components covered is data classified CONFIDENTIAL.
Policy
General Policy
The general policy of Uncanny Software is to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in terms of typical mobile devices (e.g. cell phones). BYOD devices are allowed to access Uncanny Software resources using the device's official app, or approved applications from a trusted app marketplace.
Under no circumstances is production data allowed to be saved on a BYOD device. That would fall under the Removable Media policy and is not allowed.
When using a BOYD device, employees are expected to exercise good judgement and utilize a VPN connection when using public or foreign networks.
Violations
The general policy of Uncanny Software is to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in terms of typical mobile devices (e.g. cell phones). If files need to be exchanged between individuals or systems then we should utilize the GSuite products for sharing work in a secure environment. Should files need to be shared external to the organization we can utilize our Box account for secure sharing/downloading. BYOD devices are allowed to access GSuite email through their official app and the Uncanny Software application through either the mobile app or through the website. Under no circumstances is production data allowed to be saved on the mobile device. That would fall under the Removable Media policy and is not allowed. When using a Mobile Device the employee is to utilize a VPN connection at all times. Use of public wifi without VPN is forbidden.
